Good Parent Club™

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve questioned whether or not I am a good parent. Everywhere I looked I felt more and more like I was failing. As I was making the Acorn Deck and creating affirmations for kids to develop a positive internal monologue, I was reminded that children learn the most through what the adults in their life model. How could I expect my own kids to believe that mistakes and difficulties are not a reflection of their worth if every time I made a mistake I said something like "I'm a terrible mom!"?

Creating Nurture Cards inspired me to start saying, "I'm part of the Good Parent Club" after I made a mistake in parenting. Admittedly, this was more of a sarcastic response at first, but the more I said it, the more I remembered that being human is normal and that I am a good parent.

When I talk to friends or clients who are fellow parents, I see that I'm not the only one who struggles to feel good enough. I envisioned a world where people would affirm each other and themselves when they make a mistake. "You're part of the Good Parent Club" feels like a nice way to be reminded of that.

The Good Parent Club™ is a revolution affirming that parents who mess up, aren’t always on their game, say the wrong thing, lose their cool, don’t have all the answers, and feel disconnected from their kids sometimes are good parents too!

So from a fellow parent to you:

Welcome to the Good Parent Club!

It’s pretty great here.
